Connection between Body and JINEN
by Atsushi Takenouchi
The success of last yearŐs workshop makes that for the second time Butohdancer
Atsushi Takenouchi will come to Amsterdam.
During an 8-days workshop, taking place from 30 May till 6 June,
he will give
you the opportunity to meet his deep and intense way of working and to experience
with your own body and mind the strong Butohtechnique.
Atsushi Takenouchi, originally from Japan, started Butohdance at very young
age.
Kazuo Ohno and his son Yoshito Ohno were his teachers.
Since 1986 he has been working on his own JINEN Butoh. From this time he travelled
many places around the world, doing performances and giving workshops. Atsushi
Takenouchi teaches dancers and performers how to connect to the bodyŐs organic
history and how to guide inner movements into (Butoh)dance with awareness of each
state passed.
His work from the last years is a close cooperation with musician Hiroko Komiya
from Kyoto Japan.
The workshop Connection between Body and JINEN will concentrate on the
Butohtechnique which is a key for inner movement and how to compose this movement
into (Butoh)dance. And create a solo/ duo piece.
- The first step is that we experience our inner movement which occurs from the
outward condition; our body putted in various situations or surroundings.
- Next step is the internal condition like various emotions, happiness, sadness,
anger, fear, etc. We put our body in that particular emotional state.
- Further we explore our body by transforming. Imagine a human body covered over
with numerous tentacles, a waterfall running inside. Being a stone, tree, insect,
etc.
- If the weather alows us, there will be also nature side practice and
occasion to dance there. The last days will Atsushi lead our work into creation
and presentation of each participantŐs short solo/ duo piece.
Hiroko Komiya will be present, inspiring our dance with live music!
The workshop is ment for dancers, actors and performers.
