Butoh workshop and Plant medicine Retreat /Lake Titicaca,
Bolivia
in collaboration with Kiahkeya (
Hernando Villa and Kathi Von Koerber )
The workshop will be composed of
rigorous body training, dance
and voice classes
that are held in the morning, afternoon, and alternately at
night,
in both natural indoor and outdoor settings: in and
around the island, white sand
beaches,
Incan Labyrinth ruins, and mountainsides. Participants will
be lead through a holistic
environmental dance and healing week,
culminating in group dance
and solo improvisations.
We will be working with local artists, healers and
island people,
working with the ancient heritage of the island.
Classes
will be lead by Atsushi Takenouchi and Kathi von Koerber alternatively and together.
There will be two healing plant ceremonies during
the retreat, and various
different cleansings.

< The depth of the river connect to
the origin of life >
26 nights 26 days. For a small life,
all is its' life. The butterfly lives and dies in this arch
of time.
- The life grow up from the earth and return to the
earth. In one season, everything is transforming. In the summer,
there is many cycle of life. This life is taken over
to the autumn. Life and death are parts of
transformation. Everything come from the earth and come back to the
earth.
- Our body, our life, are parts of the nature. We
will meet directly the nature and we will know where we came from, where
we were borned and
where we are going to.
- We cannot refuse the deseases, the illness. Without
refusing them, but looking them with deep eyes, we will discover
beautiful movements which are already dancing.
- Staying in front of audience
is to give all your life to them. The same you do with your
love. Also without moving and being still in front of the
audience, you can show all your existence.
July 13rd - 8th August 2009, from
Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, in Pontedera (Pisa)From the third week,
the workshop will have the live music by Hiroko
Komiya.
During the other week ends,
it's possible for participants to play her/his own work for audience.
Who wants to
participate must send her/his curriculum vitae with a description
of her/his motivation to participate.
Max participants: 18.
